Another separation is happening in Hollywood. According to the representative of Bonham Carter, it is officially confirmed that the couple is calling it quits after 13 years together.
"Tim Burton and Helena Bonham Carter separated amicably earlier this year and have continued to be friends and co-parent their children," her rep stated. "We would ask that you respect their privacy and that of their children during this time."
The 48-year-old British actress and the 56-year-old award-winning American director were never married in those 13 years. However, they share two children together. An 11-year-old son named Billy Raymond Burton and a 7-year-old daughter named Nell Burton, where Johnny Depp, close friend of Burton is a godfather of both the couple's children. Hopefully, it will not be much of a hassle splitting up the assets for the eccentric pair, who live in two connected houses in Belsize Park, London. Carter initially owned one of the houses and it was only later than Burton bought the other and so the couple decided to connect the two.
In 2001, Burton developed a romantic relationship with Bonham Carter. The two first met on the set of the 2001 film "Planet of the Apes", which was directed by Burton himself, and continued to work with Bonham Carter by casting her on additional films like the 2003 film "Big Fish", the 2005 animated film "Corpse Bride", the 2007 musical horror film, "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street", and the 2010 fantasy film "Alice in Wonderland".
The long-time couple made the headlines last fall after the acclaimed director was caught and photographed kissing the lips of an unknown mysterious blonde-haired woman. Nevertheless, the actress' rep criticized the piece, calling it an "absolute nonsense story." The rep added further that, "the pictures were taken whilst they were out and the large group includes family, friends, and work colleagues."
