Amy Adams was ready to promote her new film Big Eyes on the Today show, but she never got her chance.
The 40-year-old actress was informed that she would be asked about the Sony hacking scandal, and when she stated that she preferred they didn't, they booted her segment from the line-up, according to Deadline.com.
Amy was left feeling upset at the treatment, all because she wasn't comfortable answering questions about a computer hack attack 'that had nothing to do with her,' the website revealed.
The Weinstein Company, producer and distributor of the movie, rallied to Amy's defense in a statement printed by Deadline.com.
'We firmly stand behind Amy Adams,' the statement read. 'We've been lucky enough to have had her talents grace several of our films.
'We are certain her fellow actors and directors would all agree, she is nothing but the consummate professional both on and off set.
'Amy decided to speak up for herself and express her disappointment that Today would feel the need to ask her a question she did not feel comfortable, and rather than respect her opinion or continue the discussion, the reaction was to pull her appearance from the show.'
The Man Of Steel star - who is also mom to four-year-old daughter Ava with fiancé Darren Le Gallo - hosted SNL on Saturday and reportedly stayed in New York City an extra day to make the Today show interview.
Just prior to the interview, Amy's people were told the Sony hacking subject would be among the topics discussed.
