Angelina Jolie, aside from being a renowned actress in the world, is busy engaging herself in the field of directing as well.
The 39-year-old actress is now getting ready for the release of the film "Unbroken" this Christmas Day, which is based on the true to life story of Louis Zamperini, a former Olympic runner and a World War II hero. Jolie is also finishing up another film entitled "By the Sea" wherein she had to work with her husband Brad Pitt, and recalls the experience as a challenging one.
In an interview with Vulture Magazine, Jolie says, "By the Sea was complicated because I had to direct myself and Brad, but logistically, it was a walk in the park in comparison. It was also a reminder that every film is such a different experience. As a director, it was nice to go from something like Unbroken into something completely different, because it helps you stay fresh. You don't get mired in any habits, you stay open and keep learning different ways of working". Jolie is not stopping there, she is also preparing her directing skills for another upcoming film entitled "Africa".
What led Jolie in to directing was not that she thinks acting alone is not enough of a real job for her, but rather ". . . acting is a real job, but it's a very particular job that focuses on certain aspects of yourself. I think an actor is a better actor if they're more complex as a human being - they have more to offer the audience. . . Life has to be first. Life before art", according to her interview with Vulture Magazine.
Apart from being busy with her career, Jolie also makes sure that her family is not being left out. In an interview with Australian Women's Weekly, Jolie tells that nurturing a family is not an easy job and that it requires hard work, though she is "very happy to be married".
