The final Arrow Season 3 episode for fall featured the fight between Ra's Al Ghul (Matt Nable) and Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) wherein (spoiler alert) the latter was defeated and died (?). The fight scene between Starling City's mysterious vigilante and the Demon Head is one of the most shocking scenes in the CW Network series' third season. While many are thinking about how Amell's Arrow will go back from the dead, some are still stuck on that last scene. They are asking, why do they have to do it in a snowy mountain, without shirts on.
Arrow Season 3 episode 9: Fight scene between Oliver and Ra's al Ghul
In his Facebook Q&A with fans, Stephen Amell addressed many questions by fans and that includes the one about his shirtless fight scene with Rha's al Ghul at the Arrow Season 3 episode nine. He said that that particular fight is a homage to Batman and solid comics fans.
"I was really, really cold. It was -- let's go with Celsius since the majority of the world is going to watch this and not just the United States of America -- it was I'd say two degrees Celsius. And it was windy and it was raining," Amell said.
"And that's one of the reasons why my left pectoral twitched in one of the scenes. The fight in and of itself, I was fine, because we were fighting, but the whole lead-up, I was cold. Cold, cold, cold. We'd been planning to do the fight shirtless for a number of reasons. The first one, I had suggested it to the producers because I didn't want my stunt double Simon doing one single thing. I love you, Simon. It turns out, though, that Batman and Ra's al Ghul fighting shirtless on the top of a mountain is a very iconic image from the comic books, so we wanted to honor that as well."
Arrow Season 3 episode 10 will air on January 21st.
