NBC TV series Constantine is one of the shows that are in danger of getting cancelled after just one season. At least that's what many fans are thinking after the network announced they will no longer order more episodes for the series based on the hit comic book Hellblazer. Now, with the latest tweet from the show's official Twitter account, it seems fans can expect better things once the show returns on January 16.
The account has revealed that the next Constantine TV series episodes will now be aired on an earlier time slot. The past episodes of the NBC series were aired at 10:00, a scheduled a bit late as what many fans think. In a positive development, Constantine will now air every 8pm and will be followed by hit police procedural fantasy television drama Grimm once it returns on January 16.
Many fans and critics think that what's ailing Constantine TV series is its time slot. It also does not help that it got giant competitors in other networks like CBS' Blue Bloods and ABC's 20/20. Can this good news translate into higher viewership which the show primarily needs to get a second season order?
While fans are still worried whether Constantine TV series will be axed, the show's main star Matt Ryan is confident that his show will get a second season. In an interview with Wales Online, he said that Constantine's huge fan base will help the TV series get extended.
"I am confident and I'm hopeful. There is a huge fanbase for the comics out there, and I don't really read press myself, but I'm on Twitter, and the feedback we've been getting from the fans is the show is getting stronger, finding our feet, and moving forward," Ryan said.
"The show and what we have set up has such potential, and has such potential for Warner Bros. and DC and NBC.
"I'm a fan of the comics, and... I'm not done with this character. I don't feel like I've fleshed him out completely yet."
