'The Voice' Coaches Pharrell Williams And Gwen Stefani Perform At The People Magazine Awards

| By

Grammy Award winners Pharrell Williams and Gwen Stefani dominated the stage in The People Magazine Awards Thursday night. The star-studded 2-hour special event also featured Jennifer Lopez, Josh Froban, Jennifer Aniston, Kate Hudson, Michael Keaton, Jeff Bridges, Jon Hamm, Kate Upton, Chloe Grace Moretz, Mindy Kaling, Chris Messina, Billy Eichner, Josh Gad, Ryan Guzman and Diane Guerrero as guests.

Williams and Stefani performed the latter's new single "Spark the Fire" and were joined by other notable performers Maroon 5 and 5 Seconds of Summer. Stefani was able to achieve worldwide success with her band No Doubt selling more than 30 million albums all across the globe. She eventually became a multi-platinum solo artist, and a three-time Grammy winner. She is currently working on her new album, and joined Williams as one of the coaches of The Voice's Season 7.

Meanwhile, Williams received a total of 7 Grammy awards and ASCAP's coveted Golden Note Award back in 2012. He was also nominated for 6 Grammy awards this year alone, including 3 nominations for Album of the Year. Moreover, his viral song "Happy" is among this year's top selling songs on iTunes, along with Disney's Frozen. It is also named as the "most downloaded song" in the UK for this year 2014. Not to mention his coaching stint on Season 7 of The Voice.

We must say this is the best year yet for Williams as he also became the 2,537th recipient of the star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame last December 4. His good friend, Ellen DeGeneres, was the one who presented his award and also gave a heartwarming speech about the multi-talented performer. "You have made such an imprint on music and on people's lives. It's not just because you are a brilliant singer, songwriter, and musician, it's because you are a kind soul. There is only one Pharrell and I am so proud and lucky to call him my friend," DeGeneres said.
