Two Terminator 5 release dates have been announced in advance by Paramount. The first of two 'Genisys' movies is expected to come out July 2015 in American cinemas, followed by its sequel in June 2018. It has also been reported that the films are being shot back-to-back.

It has been verified by Schwarzenegger that the new movie will be titled " Terminator: Genisys", with its official Facebook account already having almost 37,000 likes.
Arnold took to his Twitter account confirming that filming has wrapped and is moving into its post-production phase:
"Hasta la vista, baby. Thx to cast & crew. Can't wait to remind fans why they fell in love with @Terminator on 7/1/15."
The 'Expendables' actor also uploaded a photo on his Instagram with a captioned "Hasta la vista, baby. I want to thank the cast and crew of @TerminatorGenisys for a fantastic shoot. It was challenging, it was fun, and it was rewarding. From our director to the producers, from the camera team to catering, from visual effects to hair and makeup - we couldn't have done it without you. I can't wait to see our finished project and I know we'll remind the fans why they fell in love with the Terminator. On July 1, 2015, I'll be back."
According to sources, the plot of Terminator 5 will follow two time travelling T-800 robots. A report in Screen Rant state that the timeline of the new movie will take place between the events of 1984 (setting of the first film) and 1991, around the time of Judgement Day.
Characters appearing in the new movie are John Connor played by Jason Clarke, Kyle Reese played by Jai Courtney and Sarah Connor played by Emilia Clarke. Other cast members include Byung Hun-Lee of G.I. Joe fame, J.K. Simmons and Matt Smith.
Terminator: Genisys folllowed suit with the release of the Jurassic World and Star Wars Episode 7 trailers; a 15-second trailer offers a glimpse into the film's fifth installment, and also the return of Arnold Schwarzenegger as T-800:
