While everybody's reeling about the mid-season ender of "The Walking Dead" season 5, Norman Reedus' Daryl Dixon gets MTV's TV Character for 2014 title and fans are ecstatic! Crossbow-wielding star shares about the friendship among cast members and their weird ritual at Comic-Con International.

Daryl Dixon has been introduced to "The Walking Dead" fans beginning its first season and fans all over the world have followed the fictional character until the most recent episode where he carried the body of Beth from the hospital. Portrayed by "The Boondock Saints" star Norman Reedus, "The Walking Dead" character has gained new heights in fan base and recognition.

Recently, news surfaced online revealing that "The Walking Dead" character Daryl Dixon topped 46 other characters including two other "The Walking Dead" characters Gareth (Andrew J. West) and Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride) in a countdown of Best TV Characters for 2014.

According to MTV, "If Daryl dies, we riot. That's the refrain from fans of 'The Walking Dead,' and for good reason. Norman Reedus' Daryl isn't just the show's resident badass warrior with a crossbow, he's also the beating heart of the group. Rick and the others may spend a lot of time talking about their place in the post-apocalyptic zombie wasteland, but while they do that Daryl is growing and changing like no other character on TV."

Meanwhile, Norman Reedus shares details about how close "The Walking Dead" cast members are as they have a weird ritual come the annual Comic-Con International event. He shares how the male cast members "run into the water in their bathrobes", reports Comicbook.com.

In an interview with Access, Norman Reedus says that while filming is off, cast members continually contact each other and remain updated in each other's lives. Apparently, Daryl Dixon really does have a soft side!

"We all do actually. All of us do that. I was doing it [the other] night with Greg [Nicotero] and Steven [Yeun] and Andy [Lincoln] and Chandler [Riggs], because I found all these pictures that when we were in Comic-Con, in San Diego, we have this ritual where we get up super early, and we meet down on the beach in bathrobes and then we just run into the ocean and it's freezing, but it's like, it's become a tradition now, so I found all these photographs, and we had a little text chain going on. Yeah, we do it all the time."
