As "American Idol" season 14 approaches its premiere date, returning judges, Keith Urban, Harry Connick, Jr, and Jennifer Lopez shared what viewers should expect next year.
"We've got a very unusual, eclectic group," Keith Urban shared to Extra during Fox show's red carpet event. "I think there's a lot of artists in this group."
He further added, "It's not just singers. It's people who are very individual."
Harry Connick, Jr. also shared the difference between next year's show compared to the past season.
"This year is different than last year because last year had a huge amount of talent," Connick commented, "but this year the talent isn't only vocal but performing wise too."
According to the talented musician, this season's contestants are working hard for their dreams by honing not only their vocal abilities but their performances as well.
On the other hand, singer and fashionista Jennifer Lopez has another reason to look forward to for "American Idol" season 14.
"There's always new fun clothes to wear!" She excitedly told Extra about the fashion that she'll be sporting next season."
The "Booty" singer also had some advice regarding style in general.
She said, "It doesn't matter where they're from. It can be from Top Shop or Forever 21. That's the definition of style to me. You find what it is you and you put it together. It doesn't matter if it's a designer label or just a regular store."
Keeping with its plans to update "American Idol" season 14, Big Machine Label Group President and CEO Scott Borchetta joined the Fox show to fill in for the in-house producer post after Randy Jackson announced his decision to step down from the position.
The next "American Idol" champion will also be signing on to Big Machine getting the chance to work with some of the music industry's biggest names such as Taylor Swift, Tim McGraw and Rascal Flatts.
"American Idol" season 14 will be premiering on January 7 on Fox.
