Since the announcement, rumors about the movie's plot have surfaced, Badass Digest has published an article covering some points about Bruce Wayne's origins. Again, these are speculations and have not been officially confirmed by Warner Bros.DC:
"Batman v Superman opens with Batman's origin and fast forwards to Bruce Wayne coming to Metropolis during the Superman/Zod fight, but that's just setting the stage for that character. From there the script turns its attention to Superman heavily, and it examines the implications of Superman in the real world. The main action takes place a couple of years after the end of Man of Steel, and Superman has been busy in the meantime, becoming the hero we know and love. Clark Kent and Lois Lane have moved their relationship forward to the point where they live together. Clark is still working at the Daily Planet, although it's unclear if he's loving his assignments - he's tasked with covering a Metropolis/Gotham football game when he would rather be writing about Batman."
Superman: Dawn of Justice which was originally slotted to open on May 6, 2016 opposite of Marvel's Captain America 3 will now launch to a March 25,2016 release date, avoiding a potential blockbuster confrontation. This is also the second time the release of the film has been changed.
Simultaneously, Warner and DC Entertainment in announced in a statement the launch of releases planting the flag on several dates beginning with "Superman: Dawn Of Justice" along with 9 superhero films through 2020.
Jason Momoa has been confirmed to appear in Batman Vs Superman: Dawn of justice, for the first time in the DC universe as "King of The Seven Seas" Aquaman; also expected to be introduced in Dawn of Justice is Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman. Both characters are expected to get their own solo movies.
Actor Ray Fischer takes on the role of Cyborg in his own solo film in 2020 and will also be making a cameo apperance in Batman Vs Superman (quote via i09.com):
"I didn't know the extent to which DC and WB had planned on taking my character. When I signed on, I just wanted to be part of this world. But that specific information, I found out then and there. I didn't think I'd be getting my own stand-alone film."
