In The Limelight: Taylor Swift

| By

Things have been going pretty well with Taylor Swift lately. The ‘1989’ singer celebrated her 25th birthday with a star-studded guest list which includes the industry’s well known names such as Justin Timberlake, Jay-Z, Beyoncé, Sam Smith, Victoria’s Secret Angel Karlie Kloss and girl band HAIM.

Also present were Jaime King, Emma Roberts, Ansel Elgort, Kelly Osbourne, Nick Jonas, Chrissy Teigen and BFF Selena Gomez who even flew in from Los Angeles to New York. The party proved to be a blast as she and her guest kept posting photos of the party that happened at Swift’s apartment. The blonde beauty even posted a quick photo of her with her guest with the caption, "So this is being 25 ... #WHAT #bestbirthdayEVER”.

Aside from her birthday bash, T. Swift has been busy promoting her new album and posing for Billboard’s cover. She was awarded “Woman of the Year” by the publication and for her speech she said, “Being named Billboard Woman of the Year for a second time is this amazing early birthday present, I turn 25 at midnight tonight, and I fully intend to celebrate like it's 1989." She then added, "I knew it was a bad joke when i wrote it, and I just did it anyway!"

As she continued her speech she then said that she has vowed to take her stand as a songwriter, businesswoman and content creator. Also, that she is ready to change along with the industry if it is needed to be done, "I'm very well aware the music industry is changing, and it will continue to change. I'm open to that change and progress.”

She ended by saying a few words of gratitude to the magazine, "I want to thank Billboard for deciding to make me Woman of the Year for the second time...I really just feel like we need to continue to try and offer something to a younger generation of musicians. Because somewhere right now your future Woman of the Year is probably sitting in a piano lesson or in a girls choir. Today, right now, we need to take care of her. Thank you."
