Action thriller "Blackhat" release date comes next month and "Thor" star Chris Hemsworth" talks about his experiences in portraying computer genius, Nicholas Hathaway.
In a recent interview with Yahoo, 2014 "Sexiest Man" Chris Hemsworth shared his thoughts about cyber crime, on playing the a different kind of character, and his upcoming movie "Blackhat" coming in January.
Chris Hemsworth tells Yahoo how he prepared for his role saying, "I just became really, really smart [laughs]. I had to do a lot of prep and research within the world of computers and the cyber world and hacking - which was completely foreign to me. It's definitely not one of my skill sets. Neither math nor computers was a class that I excelled in by any means in school."
He continues on saying, "I worked with one particular guy, Chris McKinley, who's up there in the top of his field with computer math science programs. I started from typing, knowing how to type, and then [we] worked our way through having some sort of familiarity in the hacking world. ... how these guys think and how they view the world. They know all the vulnerabilities of the so-called secure system."
Known for his portrayal of Norse god "Thor" in the Marvel Studios universe, Chris Hemsworth plays a slightly different character from what his fans are used to seeing him in. In his most recent film, 2014 "Sexiest Man Alive" assumes the role of a hacker, Nicholas Hathaway-radically far from the roles people have seen him in. Apart from "Thor" and "The Avengers" series, Chris Hemsworth's other works include "The Cabin in the Woods" (2012), "Snow White and the Huntsman" (2012) and "Red Dawn" (2012).
"Blackhat" was originally titled "Cyber" and was first announced early last year where filming quickly ensued. "Blackhat" release date is set on January 16, 2015, directed by Michael Mann who is known for his work in "Texas Killing Fields" in 2011 and "Public Enemies" in 2009.
Upon "Blackhat" release date, fans will experience a story "Set within the world of global cybercrime, Legendary's 'Blackhat' follows a furloughed convict and his American and Chinese partners as they hunt a high-level cybercrime network from Chicago to Los Angeles to Hong Kong to Jakarta."
