As the Olympics in London 2012 fast approaches, more and more magazines are clamoring to feature athletes.

With their toned bodies and ripped abs, Vogue is generally more high coutoure and not really sporty. But they too, are jumping on the bandwagon and for their June and July editions.

Esparza, 20, started boxing when she was 11 in her hometown of Pasadena, Texas. Now 23, Esparza might be the best bet to win gold for the U.S.

The Vogue profile notes that she doesn't necessarily look the part: "A track-and-field athlete, perhaps, or a runner, but at five feet three and 112 pounds she is neither brawny nor particularly fierce-looking."

"The headgear is like a mask," said Esparza in the issue. "When you put it on, you feel like you can do anything. You're not even you anymore." She is also a CoverGirl alongside other famous faces like Ellen DeGeneres, Sofia Vergara and Taylor Swift.
