Spanish actress Penelope Cruz is reportedly expecting her second child with husband and fellow Oscar-winner Javier Bardem, reported Spanish program Espejo Publico (Antena3).
The couple already has a 17-month-old son named Leonardo. Insiders who are working with Cruz in a movie in Madrid have confirmed that the Academy-Award-winning actress is about three months along already, noted an article in the Monsters and Critics blog.
Cruz recently said in a new interview that staying at home, for the most part, with her son Leonardo was the best of her life.
"I'm a housewife and it's beautiful, the best thing in the world," Cruz said during the interview. "I know how to cook and it's important to me to make fresh food every day. I don't do crazy diets, just the good Mediterranean food that I love because it's important to eat well."
Becoming a parent also meant that Cruz worries less about life, because she has the constant love and affection of her child.
"For me, having my son means I worry less. I've always loved to worry - ever since I was a little girl people would tell me I worry too much," Cruz continued for the interview. "But these days I really have to pick my subjects to worry about because there are only so many hours in the day."
Prior to marrying Bardem in July 2010, she was engaged to Tom Cruise, with whom she had a relationship for three years in the mid-2000s, after his split from second wife Nicole Kidman. Cruz and Cruise met on the set of "Vanilla Sky." She then dated fellow actor and costar Matthew McConaughey for a brief period before settling with Bardem. She can next be seen in the Woody Allen feature "To Rome with Love."
