The first trailer for Illumination's new film entitled "Minions" was released on Tuesday packed with history regarding the cute yellow villain helpers.
Minions movie main stars are named Stuart, Kevin and Bob.
The "Despicable Me" spinoff will feature voices of famous hollywood stars like Sandra Bullock, Jon Hamm, Michael Keaton, Allison Janney, Steve Coogan and, according to The Hollywood Reporter, Steve Carell, which will tell the long journey that Minions underwent before meeting their evil master-Gru (voiced by Steve Carell).
The trailer reveals clues about the species' past, what their culture is like, and why the word "banana" is attached to them. It shows that Minions have been around since the dawn of the dinosaurs. And since their existence, they have only one purpose: They seek to find and serve the most despicable master in the world. The trailer noted that finding a master is easy, but keeping one is what proves to be difficult.
Minions as a matter of fact, got involved in building the pyramids as they served the greatest masters throughtout the history, including the ancient Egyptians.
Minions also managed to kill a Dracula. Though, it wasn't an intentionl action; they simply forgot about that pesky sunlight rule when waking him up for some surprise birthday cake.
After their long service for their masters, Minions found themselves aimless and depressed, and they retired to a glacial-like environment and waited for something to come along. Until the three protagonists, Bob, Kevin and Stuart decided to go on a journey to find a new master.
The prequel's adventure begins in New York City. The year is 1968, 42 years before the "Despicable Me" movie.
Minions is set for release in the summer of 2015.
And about the "banana" issue? It's just that, they really like bananas.
