The villain of The Flash Series Episode 9 is probably the biggest thing that happened to the young CW Network superhero show. Reverse Flash appeared and gave Grant Gustin's Barry Allen a run for his money. Fans are probably still perplexed with the last episode and still grasping for a way to explain what went down. Overall, the reception over The Flash's new nemesis is positive.
In the next The Flash series episodes, the mystery of Reverse Flash will be discussed. Aside from that, they will also welcome some new villains, one of them is described as 'huge step forward.' In earlier the Flash episodes, it is revealed that a gay villain will arrivve at the CW Network series, the first ever for a small or big screen project. This villain is Pied Piper, an openly gay DC character that used to work with the Rogues. He will be portrayed by Andy Mientus of Broadway revival of "Les Misérables."
There is no information yet on what particular The Flash Series episode Pied Piper will appear. Variety got to talk to Mientus about his momentous role. For the 28-year old actor, who is also an openly bisexual and engaged to Broadway actor Michael Arden, his role in the Flash is a huge step forward for the industry.
"With the gay thing, I feel like I'm representing a whole community," Mientus told Variety. "People are excited to see this character, so it is a lot of pressure. But I'm glad they are introducing the character to the show. It's a huge step forward, and I'm thrilled to help make that happen. It's awesome."
Mientus is excited for his role in the Flash. One thing he is particularly raving about is his costume.
"It's badass. I can't put it on and not feel powerful," he said. "It tells you everything you need to know on how to move and feel like a superhero. It does a lot of the work for you."
