‘Resogun’ PS3 Release Set on December 23; Voxel-based Video Game Also Coming for PS Vita; PS4 Version’s New Expansion Pack Will Be Available Next Year

Consider this an early Christmas treat for Resofans as Sony Playstation formally announced the release date of the rumored "Resogun" PS3 version. As a bonus, the voxel-based game will also be coming for PS Vita on Dec. 23.

After rumors of the Playstation 3 version for the hit video game have buzzed around the web, the official blog of the game console said the PS3 and PS Vita version of "Resogun" will be available before Christmas day at $14.99.

"I'm pleased to announce today that Resogun is coming to PS3 and PS Vita for $14.99. That's right Resofans, starting December 23rd you'll be able to save the last humans anywhere, anytime."

Originally made for Playstation 4, the game console company said "Resogun" developers made a lot of compromises to bring the hit game to its newest platforms. Because PS4 has better performance and graphical features, Climax game makers made significant adjustments to the game.

"Picking a game that was created specifically for PS4 and bringing it to PS Vita and PS3 is very difficult, and the hardest compromise to accept during development, especially in regard to performance and graphics, is that these platforms don't have the capability and power of PS4."

Though the process has been difficult, Playstation guaranteed Resofans an impressive PS3 and PS Vita version of the game. Because of the technical difference between PS4 and PS3 and Vita, new versions of "Resogun" will run at 30 fps instead of the original 60 frames per second.

On the other hand, Playstation said, "The framerate is locked, so you can expect solid performance even under a big storm of voxels." Thus, Resofans will still be treated to an engrossing gaming experience. Another added feature is the cross save function which will allow PS3 and PS Vita players to share their "Resogun" progress between the two gaming platforms.

PS4 players of "Resogun" will also have their own treat coming next year as a new Expansion Pack will be available to download for free next year.
