Empire Online reports that Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has met with veteran actor Al Pacino and it would seem that there might be a role waiting for him in a Marvel film.
Though Pacino would fit Doctor Strange like a glove, that character now belongs to "Sherlock Holmes" actor Benedict Cumberbatch, who after much gossip in earlier months, finally bagged the role. But there certainly is a place for actors such as Pacino in the Marvel universe - we've seen Robert Redford in 2013's Captain America: Winter Soldier while Michael Douglas has signed on for 2015's Ant Man; we can attribute a whole lot of Marvel's success to the actors they cast for supporting roles.
Scarface himself sat down with Josh Horowitz on the Happy Sad Confused Podcast, talking about how he appreciated Guardians Of The Galaxy. Horowitz spoke with the actor earlier in Toronto and that was when he "and the world discovered the most unlikely Marvel movie fan was Al Pacino"
When asked if he was up for a role in a Marvel movie, Pacino revealed that he is a fan of their films and also had been meeting with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige.
Pacino went on to say "I would imagine either there's something he feels is right for me," until he was abruptly cut off by a ringing phone to where Horowitz jokingly said "there's Kevin [Feige] he's offering the part right now". He also gave high praises to Guardians Of The Galaxy, saying that it was "inventive" and "funny" and wouldn't mind going to watching another Marvel film. "Let's see movies on the big screen again, i know its hard," said the actor. We smell something big happening.
Though nothing is offficial yet if Pacino will be appearing in a Marvel movie in the near future, it is likely with all the movies the studio has lined up until 2020.
