NBA basketball Hall-of-Famer Earvin "Magic" Johnson was named as a participant for the Country Time Lemonade Campaign for a Name initiative, where he will submit his entry, "The Magic," for consideration.

Johnson is the latest celebrity to take part in the Country Time Campaign for a Name, where a new nickname for the new Country Time Half Lemonade and Half Iced Tea drink will be chosen in September, said a press release issued by Kraft Foods Inc., the parent company of Country Time. Others participating include Drew Brees, Kristin Chenoweth, Michael Waltrip, Brandon Jennings, and Doug E. Fresh, listed the press release.

"So far, the Campaign for a Name has been very exciting for our celebrity contestants and consumers," Brett Hartmann, Brand Manager of Country Time, was quoted as stating for the press release. "Adding Magic Johnson to the mix will take the campaign to a new level and further engage fans of our new Half & Half drink."

The Country Time Lemonade Campaign for a Name campaign is being cross-promoted through the company's various social media outlets, including Facebook, Twitter and YouTube channels, said the press release. Fans and customers can also put their ideas for a nickname for the Half Lemonade and Half Iced Tea drink onto the Country Time Facebook page, where it can be chosen as the favorite from the contest, noted the press release.

Continuing the promotion, three new campaign videos for the Half Lemonade and Half Iced Tea drink will be released throughout July, featuring the celebrities taking part in the competition, said the press release. The winning celebrity will have a bonus victory speech video, set to be released at the end of the campaign on September 4.

"I have a lot of respect for my competitors in the Country Time Campaign for a Name, but it's showtime now," Magic Johnson said for the press release. "It's time for 'The Magic' to get me another championship ring."
