Multiple sources have confirmed to Us Weekly that sweet actress Kate Hudson and her fiancé Matt Bellamy broke off their engagement. Currently, the 35-year-old actress is dating Juliana Hough's brother, Derek Hough.
The How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days actress and the 36-year-old Muse rocker had first started dating in 2010 and they eventually got engaged in April 2011. Three months after they announced their engagement to the public, the couple had welcomed their baby son named Bingham Hawn Bellamy, who is currently 3 years of age. Kate Hudson also shares a 10-year-old son named Ryder with her ex-husband and frontman for The Black Crowes, Chris Robinson, from whom she split in November 2006.
Hudson's alleged romantic interest was also in the same event and sources said that both Hudson and Hough were seen together this past weekend at the Nice Guy Restaurant in Los Angeles.
One eyewitness recalled that they ate dinner, drank, and had stayed in the restaurant past closing. Even before the reports of both of them seeing each other, Hudson happily gushed about Hough back in 2013 in an interview with Shape magazine. She said at that time, "My heart is really in contemporary jazz, but lately I've been ballroom dancing with Derek Hough. It's been a real blast."
Previously, Hudson had voiced out how she is okay to take time and prolong her engagement. She said this January to Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan, "No, I'm planning nothing right now. I'm so busy, we've been so busy and it's been great."
She also continued to tell of her family being "unconventional". Even though her parents, Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russel (not her biological dad) are not married, she still refers to him as dad. She added, "So there's a part of me that goes, if I'm going to do it, I'm going to do it right. And I'm going to take the time to really plan it right."
