The Flash CW Series has introduced a lot of villainous characters in the show played by actors from other successful TV series of recent times. There's Prison Break's Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell who portray Captain Cold and Heatwave, respectively. Then there's Robbie Amell who starred in the short-lived The Tomorrow People playing Firestorm. The show will add another character, a villain to be specific. However, this casting is very different from what the Flash did before.
According to new The Flash CW series spoiler from the Entertainment Weekly, Trickster, a villain of the 90s The Flash series from Hitflix will appear for the same role in the CW Network show. And he will be played by the same actor, Mark Hamill.
The EW wrote about the fresh Flash spoiler:
"During the second-half of The Flash's first season, Barry will face off with a tricky foe, and one he has fought before... sort of.
EW can confirm that Mark Hamill will join the cast of The CW's superhero hit to play a new version of the Trickster, a role he took on in the original 1990s Flash television series. Hitfix originally reported the news.
This new interpretation of the Trickster, who appears in the show's 17th episode, places him as a con man living out a life sentence at Iron Heights. Barry and Detective West will need to call on his help when a wannabe Trickster begins attack Central City."
Mark Hamill as Trickster in 1990 series The Flash
This is a great news for the fans of the 90s superhero show that lasted for only one season. Hamill is not the only one from 90s that crossed over to their 2014 counterpart. As people have seen in the earlier episodes, John Wesley Shipp, who played the Flash in the CBS series more than 20 years ago, is currently playing the role of the father to Grant Gustin's the Flash.
According to the Flash series executive producer Andrew Kreisberg, casting actors from the Flash 1990 series is their way of paying tribute to the show.
"Having Mark reprise his role as The Trickster was on our original wish list when we were planning our version of The Flash," Kreisberg said.
"Christmas and Chanukah came early for us this year when he said yes! We are beyond humbled and excited to have him joining us for another round of deadly trickery!"
