Khloe Kardashian, sister of celebrity reality stars Kim and Kourtney, is currently lined up possibly be a host of the U.S version of "X Factor," said a new report.
Kardashian is one of several names in the running to replace Steve Jones as host of the reality program showcasing potential new pop stars, said a report in E! News. Others lined up include Kelly Osbourne, Mario Lopez and Stacy Keibler, girlfriend of Oscar-winner George Clooney, noted the report. Head executive of the show, Simon Cowell, is keen to make sure that the two hosts remain as one woman and one man, however.
A source told E! News, ''They're doing the auditions without a host so it's no big deal they don't have hosts right now. Simon really wants to take his time. The two person thing didn't work out the first time and he wants to make sure it works this time.''
Former Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger first hosted the show alongside Jones, but British singer went on to take Cheryl Cole's place on the judging panel after she was fired, said the report.
This is not the first in staffing changes for "X Factor." For the second season, noted celebrity singers Britney Spears and Demi Lovato took the places of Scherzinger and former "American Idol" judge Paula Abdul after the pair did not return.
Abdul was adamant that she was still friends with Cowell despite leaving the show.
''Believe it or not, Simon and I are friends. It's a warped kind of thing," Abdul told BANG Showbiz at the White Nights of St. Petersburg Festival in Russia this past weekend.
''He was stuck between a rock and a hard place when he opened up his mouth. He thought changes and a bold and a big departure were needed for what was going on.''
