‘American Idol’ Season 14: No Adam Lambert For In-House Producer! Contestants Will Work With Taylor Swift’s Boss Instead!

| By

After Randy Jackson announced that he won't be around for "American Idol" season 14 anymore, many Glamberts hoped for Fox to give "Idol" alum Adam Lambert the in-house producer position the The Dawg left behind.

"After 13 seasons, I felt now was the perfect time to leave," Jackson previously told Deadline about his decision to leave the show once and for all. "I'm proud to have been a part of a series that discovered some incredible artists and will go down in history as one of the most successful television shows ever. A true original, 'Idol' started it all. Onto what's next."

Unfortunately, that prayer wasn't answered. Lambert, after all, will be touring with Queen around Europe next year. Instead, Fox got the next best thing - a recording contract with Taylor Swift's company, Big Machine, as well as its president and CEO.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Taylor Swift's boss and Big Machine Label Group's president and CEO, Scott Borchetta, was tapped by Fox to help turn the new contestants from wannabe singers into multimillion-dollar stars.

Borchetta's role in the show has reportedly been "re-imagined and stepped up."

Since he would be training the contestants and giving them pieces of valuable advice for every live show, he reportedly decided to join them as early as Hollywood week. He supposedly wanted to get a "first look" at the potential singer that he will be signing once "American Idol" season 14 concludes.

As a producer who represents Big Machine, his insights and training would benefit "American Idol" as well since he would be personally training his next artist.

Entertainment Weekly added that the next American Idol will be joining the label's superstars and award winning performers such as Taylor Swift, Tim McGraw and Rascal Flatts among others.

Aiming for a better season this year, judges Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban, and Harry Connick, Jr promised to "raise the bar a little bit" this season. They will be looking for contenders that have both the talent and the personality to make it big in the industry.

"American Idol" season 14 will be coming back on January 7. Are you ready to meet the next American Idol?
