‘The Walking Dead’ Midseason Finale Shocks And Upsets Viewers! Find Out Why AMC Had To Apologize Here!

| By

Viewers were shocked at the sudden death of a long-running character's death during the "The Walking Dead" midseason finale last Sunday but they were more outraged at the spoiler posted on the show's official Facebook page!

The AMC show wrapped up this year with Beth Greene's (Emily Kinney) death, triggering a general uproar of anguish in social media.

Beth bade fans farewell when Officer Dawn Lerner (Christine Woods) shot her in the head during an intense standoff at a hospital.

Although Beth's death brought on a general woeful outcry, fans were more upset when AMC posted a spoiler of the midseason finale on Facebook before it even aired on the West Coast!

A photo of Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) holding a lifeless Beth in his arms as he walked out of the hospital was posted on the official Facebook page, along with the caption "RIP Beth."

According to US Weekly, a Facebook follower and avid viewer of the show angrily commented, "This is the dumbest post I've ever seen from an official fb page. Spoiling a major plot point for millions of your fans? Someone should be fired over this."

The spoiler was promptly deleted then uploaded again when the episode finished airing on the West Coast area.

AMC later posted an apology to "The Walking Dead" fans for the mistake

"We heard your feedback to last night's post, and we're sorry. With zero negative intent, we jumped the gun and put up a spoiler," the network announced through the show's Facebook page.

The announcement added, "Please know we're going to work to ensure that, in the future, possible spoilers by official AMC social feeds are killed before they can infect, certainly before the West Coast (U.S.) broadcast of The Walking Dead. As always, thank you for watching, and keep the comments coming. We appreciate all of your support."

Nevertheless, fans were still horrified at Beth's death.

According to Undead Walking, there were already rumors of Beth getting written off in "The Walking Dead" midseason finale but the horror series waited until the final possible second before actually doing it.

As soon as Daryl came out of the hospital carrying Beth's dead body, Twitter was overcome with cries of outrage and grief.

One avid fan tweeted, "NO WTF NO THEY JUST KILLED BETH. WTF BETH IS GONE. HOW COULD THEY DO THAT. THIS IS COMPLETE BS!!!"

Some could only muster a "BETH IM CRYING" tweet, rendered speechless with shock.

One fan actually found humor in the situation, tweeting, "Well at least Maggie can go back to not caring about Beth now."

Fans will have to wait until February 8 to find out what will happen next in "The Walking Dead."
