Bradley Cooper has been one of the stars that people watch out for. He has shown very talented acting in all of his movies throughout his career. However, in his new upcoming movie, it took something more serious and different that helped him play his character Navy SEAL sniper Clint Kyle in Clint Eastwood's American Sniper.
The 39-year-old Oscar- nominated actor had revealed that some of his greatest struggles in life had helped him prepare for the role of Kyle, based on his memoir named American Sniper: The Autobiography of the Most Lethal Sniper in U.S. Military History. The book had topped the New York Times best-seller list for 13 weeks last year, in 2013.
In a recent cover interview for the January issue of Vanity Fair, Cooper had generously shared to the public and his fans that the difficulty of overcoming his father's demise had actually prepared him for the very emotional role.
According to Cooper, "Losing someone close to me. Going through love and loss ... knowing what's important, realizing that the bottom line is that all I got is me, so it's about time to stop trying to be something that I think you would want me to be. Or that would give me what I think I need."
He continued, "As you get older, thank God, your body deteriorates, but your soul sort of flourishes," he shared. Also, playing the character of a Navy SEAL had required the Hollywood hunk to gain a lot of muscle in very little time. He said, "I did it naturally because I've been sober for 10 years and didn't want to do anything," he admitted. "I had a realistic conversation. 'Can I do this in three months naturally? Can I gain 30 pounds of f--king muscle?' I didn't know if I would be able to do it or not. Thank God -- luckily -- my f--king body reacted fast."
