Since the announcement of development for the second sequel, "Prometheus 2" news including speculations and those official have been floating around online. While release date has been officially moved from a March 2016 date to an unconfirmed release date, other information including the xenomorphs and Scott's aliens have surfaced online.
Development of "Prometheus 2" began mid-2012 with a release date of 2014; however, due to other commitments and script rewrites, the March 4, 2016 release date for "Prometheus 2" has also been moved indefinitely. Nevertheless, Ridley Scott confirms that indeed "Prometheus 2" is in the works, and news about the aliens is proof that it will be in cinemas soon.
However according to Scified, "Prometheus 2" will begin filming late 2015, with a release date scheduled for March 4, 2016.
In a recent interview with The Australian, director Scott confirms that after rewrites, "Prometheus 2" script is 100% complete. While Scott keeps mum about other details of the sequel, he shares bits about what audiences will experience come the release date.
He talks about the aliens in the upcoming "Prometheus 2", saying that though these creatures will hit home, they will be a fresh version and definitely horrifying. In the interview he shares, "The original Alien was the definitive dragon. The alien's real which is why it's probably one of the scariest monsters in film history. So with 'Prometheus 2', what I'm trying to do is reintroduce a fresher form of alien in the third act."
"Prometheus 2" is the second installment to the 2012 sci-fi adventure film that was created as a fifth installment to the "Alien" franchise. To date, cast members Michael Fassbender and Noomi Rapace are set to reprise their roles from the first film as David and Elizabeth Shaw, respectively-other updates on casting and story details remain undisclosed.
