Stephen Hawking movie 'Theory of Everything' had a solid performance. The biopic movie, which has received favorable reviews from critics, is about the life of the popular theoretical physicist and cosmologist when he first met his wife Jane and when he was just starting with his career while a student at Cambridge United. Hawking was portrayed here by English actor Eddie Redmayne who also praised for his performance.
The recent Stephen Hawking movie provided people a peek on his brain and heart. How about a peek on the scientist's acting prowess? Hawking never really had a big time project for the big screen but he has appeared on many films for TV or TV shows talking about science. While he lacks experience, the 72-year old genius thinks he is capable of starring in a mega movie, like play a villain the next James Bond installment.
In an interview with the Wire magazine as reported by the Telegraph, Hawking said that his voice would be a perfect fit for the next 007 movie.
"My idea role would be a baddie in a James Bond film. I think the wheelchair and the computer voice would fit the part," he said.
The new Stephen Hawking movie didn't feature the scientist's signature voice and he thinks that it would be a perfect fit to use in a James Bond clip.
"I was able to speak with a speech synthesiser, though it gave me an American accent. I have kept that voice, because it's now my trademark," he said.
"Before I lost my voice, it was slurred, so only those close to me could understand, but with the computer voice, I found I could give popular lectures.
"I enjoy communicating science. It is important that the public understands basic science, if they are not to leave vital decisions to others."
Filming of new James Bond movie starts this month with Daniel Craig reprising his role in Skyfall and Casino Royale. There's no new villain yet so Hawking might still have a chance. What do you think? Should Stephen Hawking movie debut be against the world's greatest spy?
