After being embroiled in an alleged love triangle with Ellie Goulding last year, Ed Sheeran and Niall Horan ended rumors of their supposed feud in September when the "Thinking Out Loud" singer kissed the One Direction member on the cheek during the iHeartRadio after party in Las Vegas.
The supposed tension between the two friends stemmed from Sheeran's controversial song about an ex girlfriend who cheated on him with one of the friends he went on tour with
Based on fans' deductions, "Don't" talked about Sheeran's brief tryst with fellow Brit star, Ellie Goulding. Meanwhile, Sheerios also deduced that the "Steal My Girl" singer was allegedly the friend that she cheated with.
Ed Sheeran and Niall Horan are very close friends with the former even giving the group one of his songs, "Little Things," to include in their 2012 album, "Take Me Home."
In a recent interview with Shazam Top 20, however, Niall Horan somewhat talked about the cheating allegation that had been thrown his way since "Don't" was released.
"I'm not into that kind of thing, stealing people's girls," he said during the interview. "That's not my deal."
J-14 was shocked at his answer due to the many rumors that started thanks to the song. However, they do believe that the British boyband member is indeed too sweet to be mixed up in a cheating scandal.
On the other hand, Ellie Goulding (who has been looking quite contented in the arms of McFly's Dougie Poynter lately) had reportedly taken a stand against the allegations being thrown her way.
Top40 claimed in a previous report that the "Burn" singer already warned Sheeran's camp that she will sue should her name be dragged down even further.
The site quoted a source as saying, "Ed had never denied that Ellie was an inspiration for his work, so this seems a strange response after such a long time. Online there are hundreds of fan and media sites that have gone much further in their descriptions of Ellie."
Before that, the "Lego House" hitmaker revealed that he already forgave his ex-flame right after finishing "Don't."
"I got over the anger the moment I wrote the song," he told The Sun in a previous interview. "It's a song that came at the time that I needed to write. That's the end of it."
According to an interview with Howard Stern last September, he already had the "difficult conversation" with his mate to clear things up with him.
Do you think Ed Sheeran and Niall Horan never really fought over Ellie Goulding?
