The 9 year old supermode,l Kristina Pimenova, is being called "the most beautiful girl in the world" thanks to her big blue eyes, pouty lips and long brown hair. However, some netizens are quite concerned that the little girl is being sexualized in some of her Facebook and Instagram photos.
The Moscow-born beauty was only three years old when she started modelling. Her mother, Glikeriya Shirokova (also a model), would reportedly bring her during photoshoots. After being called "adorable" several times, she started posing for some photographers and has been having "a blast ever since and is still loving every minute of it" according to her mother.
Her resume isn't something to take for granted either. She modelled for Vogue, Armani, and Roberto Cavalli even before hitting her teen years.
Recent photos of Pimenova on her Facebook and Instagram accounts, (which her mother monitors and maintains) however, became a cause of concern among netizens.
"My child would never ever ever ever ever wear shorts this tight and small ever," one of the young model's more than two million followers commented on a photo of the little girl wearing very short shorts while playing badminton on Instagram.
Another follower targeted Shirokova after she shared a picture of her daughter showing off her long legs: "Parents like you are the reason why girls grow up to have many issues... also there are so many sick people out [there] that look at these in sexual ways."
Some netizens have expressed their concern about the Russian pre-teen supermodel becoming a "[pedophile's] dream" thanks to these supposedly provocative photos. She was even proposed to, according to The New York Daily News.
The 9 year old supermodel's mother did point out a set of rules for her daughter's followers on the social media accounts.
"All the content shared on this page should be kid friendly," the set of rules on Facebook says. "Any video or pictures posted here that is not appropiate (sic.) for Kristina's age will be deleted and whoever posted it will be blocked."
She also asked fans not to use Pimenova's photos for role playing and to post only positive comments for the little girl. Any negative or inappropriate comments will reportedly be deleted right away.
