Walking Dead Character Daryl Dixon's Real Sexuality Confirmed

| By

Finally! An answer to a question that Walking Dead fans are all asking.

After months of serious speculation regarding the crossbow-wielding Daryl Dixon's real sexuality, the Walking Dead comic book creator himself, Robert Kirkman, has finally revealed whether Daryl Dixon likes men or women. Sorry but I think all our gaydars are off on this one. And we are correct!

According to Kirkman, "We play Daryl Dixon as being somewhat asexual on the show. He's a very introverted character and I think that's some of his appeal." Kirkman explained on Talking Dead, following Sunday's midseason finale. He continued, "I do have to clear something up, though: in the letter column of the comic book that I do, I mentioned that there was a possibility early on about making Daryl Dixon's character gay."

That revelation of the creator himself had sent the fans to a whirlwind spin, but finally, it made a stop. Kirkland expounded, "It caused quite a hubbub online and I just wanted to clarify that the possibility is there and that I would have been fine with it, the network would have been fine with it, but we ultimately didn't do that," he said. "I can make it official: Daryl Dixon is straight."

While the character Daryl Dixon is as straight as an arrow, to spice it all up, a gay character will soon arrive on the AMC show. Kirkland continued that a "very prominent gay character from the comics" will appear on the second half of Season 5 of the series.
