Sears, as part of this summer season promotion, started two new official blogs based on their grilling and outdoor products called "Grilling is Happiness" and "Sears Outdoor Style," as ways to give consumers tips and advice on how to better their outdoor summer experiences.
The Sears Outdoor Style online blog will give tips on how to experience outdoor living on a daily basis, and will include guest bloggers like Ty Pennington and George Hirsch, said a press release issued by Sears on Tuesday.Video guides, how-to tips, and notes on the latest products will be featured on the website.
Tips on outdoor furniture will especially be highlighted on the blog, like what cushions to use, and how best to cover consumers from the summer sun. A selection of gazebos, pergolas, and umbrellas from the Sears catalog will be featured on the blog throughout the summer.
"Enjoying nature in a relaxed atmosphere without worrying about spills and expensive meals makes entertaining outdoors so easy and affordable," Seth Stevens, Sears Outdoor Living designer, stated for the press release. "With so much of our day spent indoors, we wanted to create communities where people convene, share and celebrate their experiences around outdoor entertaining. Both Sears blogs do exactly that."
The Grilling is Happiness blog will give tips to grillers on how best to make their summer meals, as well as offer recipes and advice, noted the press release. The blog will give tips on what kind of foods to eat along with grilled meats, like popcorn and jalapenos, or try something new like kebabs and tapas for an outdoors meal, said the press release.
"Because outdoor entertaining is innately casual, you can get really creative and do a lot with relatively minimal cost," lifestyle TV host, author and Grilling is Happiness & Sears Outdoor Style contributor George Hirsch was quoted as stating for the press release. "Presentation is king. All you need is a good grill, freshly prepared ingredients, comfortable furniture, simple stylish touches and most importantly, great company to truly enjoy your outdoor living space."
