Resident Evil: Revelations 2 Release Date Update: Shows Off A New Game Gimmick Of 'Teaming Up With Enemies'!

| By

The survival horror gameplay Resident Evil: Revelations 2, a sequel to Resident Evil: Revelations, brings a new gimmick. The popular zombie shooting franchise is co-op in a way you've hardly ever seen before.

Capcom have shared new clips of Resident Evil: Revelations 2 gameplay, both viewable at 60fps at 720p. The first clip shows off actions that you can perform in cooperation with your partner. While the second clip is titled "Teaming Up" and shows how you can team up on enemies:

Mostly in co-op games, the two characters will have equal footing and all the same abilities, so nobody feels like they are being left behind.

Though, this new game introduces a new idea by providing players with two very different character options: an experienced fighter and a walking valuable tool.

Playing as Resident Evil 2 star Claire Redfield puts all the responsibility of fire-power in your hands. You get the guns, you shoot the zombies.

While taking control of newcomer Moira Burton, daughter of Barry Burton puts you in charge of more remedial tasks like highlighting items and opening barricaded doors. She won't be totally useless in a fight though because she'll have her crowbar to knock away enemies. In most cases, Claire will have to rely on her to get her out of a jam, and the two will have to work together to overcome many difficulties, as highlighted in the new gameplay videos.

Whether it's using Moira's flashlight to temporarily blind enemies, while Claire shoots them or gives them a good blow, there are several ways to partner up and fight the zombies.

And yes, single player gamers will have the option to play Resident Evil Revelations 2 without the need of a friend. A simple tap of the triangle button will allow an easy switch between the two.

Resident Evil Revelations 2 will be released in early 2015, rumored to be February, for the Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PC. It will be released in four separate episodes over the course of a month.
