2014 is Chris Pratt's year, we must say.

Many came to love the funny actor while playing Andy Dwyer in the NBC series Parks and Recreation. We also saw him in a number of movies such as Bride Wars, The Five-Year Engagement, and Zero Dark Thirty.

But everyone can attest that his breakout role as Peter Quill, also known as Star-lord, in the 2nd highest grossing film of 2014 to date, Guardians of the Galaxy, catapulted him to fame. What made him get one of the most coveted Marvel characters? The 35-year old actor was able to lose 60 pounds in a matter of six months!

Report from Huffington Post said that the now hunk actor used to weigh 300 pounds when he first auditioned for GOTG, but he was not turned down right away. Instead, he was given the challenge to lose those extra weight in such a very limited period of time- and so he did.

He amazed everyone when he posted an image of his weight-loss transformation on his Instagram account with a caption "six months no beer." Fans even took it to the next level when some posted a "before and after" picture of the actor.

More and more opportunities fame for Pratt because of his remarkable change in form. He was even featured on the cover of Men's Fitness! Who would have thought, right?! When asked how he did such an amazing job in so little time, Pratt revealed that he had to change his over-all eating habits aside from an obvious intense workout regimen. Interestingly, Pratt substituted drinking beer with water, as advised by his nutritionist, saying he needed to drink 1ounce of water for every pound he weighed. That must be a lot of water intake! If we do the math, his old weight was equivalent to more than 2 gallons of water per day! Oh well, he was able to succeed so his newly formed habit must really work.

We will again see the actor in his new movie Jurassic World showing on June 2015. Stay with us for more updates on the hunk actor.
