Emily Blunt Saves Meryl Streep’s Life During The Filming Of Into The Woods

Award winning actress Emily Blunt apparently has a knack for saving someone who is in trouble - in real life!

The 31-year-old actress had saved one of the biggest stars in Hollywood, Meryl Streep, earlier this year, when she bravely rescued the latter during the filing of their new movie, Into the Woods.

On Tuesday, November 25, Blunt revealed to talk show host David Letterman regarding the time that she came to the rescue of the 65-year-old actress Meryl Streep. Both stars are appearing in the upcoming big-screen adaptation of Into the Woods together. One fine day during a shoot, things turned out not as they expected.

According to Blunt, "I did save her life. We were rehearsing a scene where she's playing the witch and she's supposed to jump onto the table with a cape and everything."

Streep plays the character of the witch in the fairy tale story which causes trouble for Blunt's character of The Baker's Wife, and also to other beloved characters such as The Baker (played by James Corden), Cinderella(played by Anna Kendrick), Cinderella's Prince (played by Chris Pine), and Jack ( played by Daniel Huttlestone).

She continued to narrate, "I just saw this thing happen in slow-motion... You know when you see something awful happen and it's like the sound cuts out, you know? Meryl Streep's foot got caught in her cape and we just started to watch her slowly topple head-first toward the concrete floor." She added, "[Director] Rob Marshall and James Corden froze, didn't move, and the pregnant woman caught her," the British actress who welcomed a daughter this past February, said of herself. "I caught her!"

Being a hero also meant she expects payback from Streep after what she did. "She owes me! She should play my lowly dressmaker. She owes me bigtime."
