According to 38-year-old Ryan Reynolds, he will definitely be a "buddy" to his child with his wife Blake Lively, no matter what its gender is.
Recently, there were rumors that the couple is expecting a baby girl, but Ryan claims that he does not know the gender yet of the baby. According to the Green Lantern actor, "I'm just excited about having a buddy." He happily continued to tell People magazine, "We don't know if it's a boy or a girl yet, but whatever it is, you have this tether to reality that never goes away."
Reynolds is currently trying to relax his state of mind and not thinking too much about the trials of being a first-time dad. He wants to be in a positive and refreshed mindset before his little one comes out into the world. Ryan added, "For a lot of new dads, you tend to dwell on the mistakes you don't want to make." He also said that, "I'm at that stage still where I'm focused primarily on being open and understanding and leaving a lot of room for error."
Ryan is also a very supportive and loving husband as he is ready to help his gorgeous wife, 27-year-old Gossip Girl star Blake Lively, throughout her pregnancy. Ryan is also keen on doing the duties of a parent, including helping the future mother of his child change diapers.
Ryan is also happy to help his other half Blake in any way he can throughout her pregnancy. He said, "I don't have a weak stomach. I'm good with diapers and diarrhea and all that kind of stuff because I have lots of nieces and nephews, so I've done it all before."
They have tied the knot a couple of years ago and now that they're bringing another wonderful baby to the world, Ryan is making sure that his wife is very comfortable with her pregnancy. What a great dad Ryan will be!
