Canadian pizzeria branch Steveston Pizza Co. have created the $450 pizza, called the C6, has made the Guinness Book of World Records as one of the most expensive pizzas in creation.

The expensive pizza, according to a report by The Province, contains thermidor of lobster and black Alaska cod, with a side of Russian Osetra caviar, and is made by chef Nader Hatami in the town of Richmond found in Vancouver. Other locations of the pizzeria can be found throughout Vancouver and South Surrey.

Hatami told The Province that so far he has only sold one of his $450 pizzas, and admitted it was to "a very rich person," Nader said.

"The idea was to make a culinary statement," Hatami told The Province. "I don't know if you've tried our pizza but each one is pretty unique... As far as the taste goes, anybody can come up with the right amount of salt and pepper. To me, good food is the one that feels good after eating it. You don't say, 'Oh, I need to take a nap' or 'Oh, I'm so stuffed."

There is a cheaper version of the C6, called the C5 and comes at a cost of $120. Those particular pizzas, of which Hatami sold seven, said The Province, contain roasted garlic, Icelandic scampi, smoked steelhead and lobster ratatouille. The rest of the C-category pizzas cost $28, with the exception to the C5 and C6, and are made with mostly organic products.

"Our body is so in harmony with it [good food]. The only way to achieve it is to ensure things are really fresh. Your body appreciates it. Your body recognizes it. To me, that's good food," Hatami told The Province.

The expensive pizzas will also be available overseas, at a restaurant Hatami opened in Manila, Philippines in September, as well as a second one set to open in December, said The Province.

Although Hatami's pizza is one of the most expensive, it does not compare to that of the creation from Margo's Pizzeria in Malta, where their white truffles and 24-carat-gold leaf covered pizza cost an alarming £1,800, noted The Province.
