It looks like Ben Stiller's long-awaited sequel to Zoolander is set to sail - with Penelope Cruz on board.
That was made evident when word spread that Penelope is signing on to join the cast of silly and beloved characters, Deadline.com is reporting.
Although Cruz's role has yet to be revealed, one thinks it will make the most of her Spanish good looks.
The 40-year-old actress recently completed the drama Ma ma in Spain for writer-director Julio Medem, and so she might be looking forward to a comedy just about now.
Ben Stiller will reprise is role as Derek Zoolander, and original cast members Will Ferrell and Owen Wilson are rumoured to be joining the roster as Mugatu and Hansel, respectively.
The sequel takes Derek and Hansel back to the modelling beat where an opposing company tries to force them out of the business.
Jennifer Aniston's fiancé Justin wrote the script and is set to direct as well, according to JustJared.com.
The first film was released on September 29, 2001 just days after the 9/11 tragedies, which didn't help box office, but became wildly successful upon DVD release,
'For me and the people who are big fans of the movie, I want to make sure that we're doing it in a way that we felt good about it,' Stiller told ComingSoon.net last year.
'It takes a lot of elements to come together for that to happen.'
Now, after more than a decade, the success of that other silly comedy Dumb And Dumber To appears to have paved the way for Zoolander 2.
