Another woman came forward on Thursday to accuse the comedian, Bill Cosby, of sexual abuse. This woman is the fourth to come out in recent weeks and accused Cosby gave her pills that made her feel groggy then he forced himself on her.
A Florida woman, a 57-year-old nurse named Therese Serignese said that the television comedy veteran had raped her way back in 1976 when she was still 19 years old. She was following a show in Las Vegas at that time and when she went backstage and the two were left alone, Cosby gave her a couple of pills and a glass of water and said, "Take these."
She added, "My next memory is clearly feeling drugged, being without my clothes, standing up. Bill Cosby was behind me, having sex with me."
Looks like the allegations have also threatened his career, as he had three shows in Vegas that were cancelled recently.
Cosby's spokesman David Brokaw has no yet responded to a request for comment. Last Sunday, Cosby's lawyer released a statement and criticized previous "decades-old, discredited allegations," saying that "the fact that they are being repeated does not make them true."
Recently, allegations of sexual abuse came out and the first three are very similar. All have said that they were given pills by Cosby to drink and then felt drugged. First one to come out was an aspiring actress Barbara Bowman, allegedly raped when she was 17, next is aspiring comedy writer Joan Tarshis, allegedly assaulted sexually when she was 19 and the third one was former model Janice Dickinson, allegedly raped when she was 25 or 26 years old.
Cosby had made no mention of the allegations last Thursday during a benefit performance in the Bahamas for a women's service organization. The comedian stuck to his routine and included some stories about his childhood and growing up in the projects of Philadelphia. The house was not full at that time.
