What's a big rule to follow on posting to social media? It's the ABC rule - Always Be Careful on who you talk or tweet about. Apparently, one particular fan had learned it the hard way.
Last Thursday, a person had sent out an old tweet about pop princess Britney Spears. And now, it had come back to bite her in the butt when it was featured on the show Jimmy Kimmel Live!
The late night talk show host has a recurring segment in his show called Celebs Read Mean Tweets. In this particular segment, various stars react to some of the not so nice stuff that some people say about them online.
On the show, Spears herself showed up and made an appearance. She read a message that said, "I feel like Britney Spears is stalking me the radio. Quit forcing your suckage on me you tired hag." This one literally bit her back since Brit Brit's fans were not too delighted on her nasty comment. Almost instantly, the very vocal fans of Britney had started attacking the Twitter user who had sent out the nasty tweet after it was shown on national television.
The anonymous twitter user told Toofab that she was "was shocked and mortified" after she found out that her message had made it on TV. She explained that it was an old tweet, around four years ago. "Initially I thought I had been hacked because I didn't remember writing it."
She added that she only knew that her old tweet was used after her phone started ringing. She continued, "That's how I found out what happened. All of a sudden, I got hit with like 11 mentions. My phone has been gasping for air since. I finally had to turn my notifications off."
