Now that DC film Suicide Squad is reportedly set to start rolling its cameras by April until August 2015 in Toronto, more and more news are springing up on actors being cast as part of the Suicide Squad team.
Numerous reports have surfaced that Will Smith (Men in Black sequels) and Tom Hardy (The Dark Knight Rises) are in discussion with DC and Warner for possible roles in the said movie. Now You See Me actor Jesse Eisenberg is also rumored to reprise his role. Moreover, Margot Robbie (Wolf of Wall Street) has reportedly been cast as Harley Quinn, and of course, it will not be complete without her partner in crime, the Joker, which is rumored to be played by Academy Award winner Jared Leto (Dallas Buyers Club). The latest addition to the roster is up and coming actor Jai Courtney (Divergent), and he is reportedly being eyed as Batman villain Deadshot. Furthermore, the movie is going to be helmed by Fury director David Ayer, who will be heading a comic book movie for the first time.
And now, according to a report, Scandal actress Kerry Washington is being eyed to play Amanda Waller. In the original comics, the character is the one in-charge of the Suicide Squad. Although Waller has no super powers unlike the rest of the characters, she has the wits to "outmaneuver, manipulate and bend super powered heroes and villains to her will." Think Batman but without the goodness part.
Also, the original Amanda Waller is on the "heavy" side, but her character in the comics has been recently presented in a different way resulting to a more sexy "Amanda." There has been no confirmation as of this time from DC and Warner or even Director Ayer about this newly added character, but if there is truth to this rumor, Washington could play the role well, considering her experience in the hit TV series Scandal.
