Iggy Azalea has slammed Eminem for being "boring" and "threatening young women" after he appeared to allude to rape while mentioning her in lyrics from a new track. Iggy has also admitted her concern for her 14-year-old brother who is a big fan of Eminem.
Iggy, 24, took to Twitter to air her disappointment in 42-year-old Eminem and other "old men" (Snoop Dogg perhaps?) in the industry who feel the need to victimise successful "young women" in the name of entertainment, after he released a snippet of his new song Vegas from his forthcoming ShadyXV compilation album.
She wrote: "I'm bored of the old men threatening young women as entertainment trend and much more interested in the young women getting $ trend. Zzzz. It's especially awkward because my 14-year-old brother is the biggest Eminem fan and now the artist he admired says he wants to rape me. Nice!"
And Iggy admitted that women have a much tougher time of it in the music industry anyway as she brushed off the comments to get on with her day.
She said: "Women in music have the bigger balls anyhow we endure much more harassment and critic. Good morninnggggg!!!!!! Off to camera block for AMAs!"
The track also mentions Nicki Minaj - but it's the controversial comments about Iggy which have sparked outrage.
The rapper recites: "You're lucky just to follow my ride/ If I let you run alongside the Humvee, unless you're Nicki/ Grab you by the wrist, let's ski/ So, what's it gon' be?/ Put that sh-t away, Iggy/ You gon' blow that rape whistle on me."
