Ever since Michael Schumacher got into a skiing accident in December last year, all that people get are updates from doctors who took care of him at the Grenoble where he was admitted. Most Michael Schumacher condition updates are 'words' from the health experts, no pictures. Former F1 driver Philippe Streiff has somehow provided fans of the seven-time racing champion of a better insight of how the German driver looks like.
The retired French driver is a frequent visitor of Schumacher and according to him, his friend is getting better each day and is already out of bed.
"He is getting better but everything is relative. It's very difficult. He can't speak.
"Like me, he is in a wheelchair, paralyzed. He has memory problems and speech problems."
In the latest Michael Schumacher condition update by Dr. Jean-Francois Payen, the medical expert who treated the future Hall of Fame awardee at his time at the French hospital, he said that his patient might need more time to recover.
'Life after a head injury is punctuated by stages,' Payen told RTL radio back in October adding that recovery might last up to three years.
'We hope, but we have to give him time."
"I have noticed some progress but I would say we will have to give him time. It is like for other patients. We are in a time scale of one to three years, so you need patience."
Philippe Streiff's statements show great signs about Michael Schumacher's condition. After being down for almost a year since contracting an accident while skiing in a French Alps mountain, he is yet to say a word.
Last month, Schumacher's 15-year old son Mick reportedly told French F1 commentator Jean-Louis Moncet that his father has woken up.
"I saw his son and he told me that Schumi is waking up very slowly; very slowly," Moncet claimed.
"Although things are going at a slow pace, he has a lot of time, I would say he has his whole life in front of him to get back on track."
