Home-based travel agencies CruiseOne and Cruises Inc., famous for its low-priced cruises and land vacations, launched a series of travel videos to give consumers a glimpse of that it's like to travel on a cruise or stay at a resort by showcasing different destinations, cruise lines and the adventures one can have on land and at sea.
The video logs, or "vlogs" are created to show just how much fun travelling and going to cruise is, and the company acknowledges that people are visual and are captivated by things they see, so CruiseOne and Cruises Inc. plans to create 35 vlogs before the year ends.
According to Google, people who view videos about travelling online has been increasing by 55 percent every year, and these videos greatly affect when consumers are thinking about taking a trip and when choosing a destination.
Furthermore, 90 percent of those who watch travel vlogs push for a trip after watching the videos.
"These videos are a game-changer in the travel industry and are unlike anything that already exists," said Rosemarie Reed, vice president of marketing for CruiseOne and Cruises Inc.
"We recognize the increased role video plays when consumers are researching vacations and these vlogs will be a crucial aspect of the decision-making process."
The company plans not only to capture travel enthusiasts, but also those who haven't been on a cruise.
"With only three percent of the population ever having taken a cruise, first-time cruisers are important to the growth of the industry and these vlogs are essential to getting that first-time cruiser on board who wants to know exactly what to expect on their vacation before booking," noted Debbie Fiorino, senior vice president of CruiseOne and Cruises Inc.
