Kickass 3 Movie: Release Unlikely Says Chloe Moretz, Actress Blames It On Piracy

| By

Matthew Vaughn's Kick-Ass wasn't a huge success at the box office, but gained enough in Blu-Ray and DVD sales, which led to its sequel from director Jeff Wadlow. With the sequel making even less than the first, its highly unlikely that we'll be seeing a "Kick Ass" 3 movie starring Chloe Grace Moretz.

In our earlier report, creator of the Kick-Ass comic John Romita Jr. spoke about how Jim Carrey failed to promote the sequel, partially blaming him for the unsuccessful ratings at the box offices.

Romita Jr., was quoted saying:

"As for Jim Carrey, I know I'll never work with that bonehead again, so let me say this. I think Mark and I have talked about this before, but here's a guy who could have capitalized on the character he played and played it toward his anti-gun stance. The character he played gave up weapons - gave up guns - and became a good guy. Anybody with three quarters of an education could have figured out how to fold that idea in with their anti-gun ideas. He's not a smart enough guy to do that. He cashed his check and took his money, and then he went and pulled a bunch of crap on our film. I say "our film," because a lot of people worked on that. He made people suffer that had jobs and needed every dime from this."

Now, Chloe Moretz, who plays Hit-Girl in the series, has now also weighed-in on the unlikelihood of a "Kick Ass" 3 movie. She was asked in an interview with Digital Spy, if she'd be reprising her role, to which she responded:

"Sadly, I think I'm done with the character. Hit-Girl was a very cool character, but I don't think there will be any more movies. You make these movies for the fan boys, but nowadays everyone seems to pirate them rather than watch them in the movie theater."

"Kick-Ass 2 was one of the number one pirated movies of the year, but that doesn't help us because we need box office figures. We need to prove to the distributors that we can make money from a third and a fourth movie - but because it didn't do so well, we can't make another one.

If you want more than one movie, everyone has to go and see movies at the cinema. It's all about the numbers in the theater."

Would you want to see "Kick Ass" 3 movie in theaters? Do you think its the right decision for Chloe Grace Moretz not to do the sequel? Sound off in the comments section below.
