Carrie Underwood Shares How She Knew Baby's Gender

| By

Former American Idol Winner Carrie Underwood will soon have her own little baby to sing to. Only, it will be nursery rhymes and lullaby sons that the 31-year-old country singer will be singing every minute of every day.

Underwood recently told ABC News Radio regarding the topic of her pregnancy. She shared how she and her husband Mike Fisher, had learned of their baby's gender.

She also explained that the doctor's office is "kind of a sterile place" and the Grammy winner and her hockey player husband had decided not to learn whether their baby will be a boy or a girl.

The proud mom-to-be said of the ultrasounds, "We got to see all the pictures and everything." She continued, "It was really cool to see that, but whenever she'd get near, near those parts we would look away."

The couple had a non-traditional way of doing things was they had their doctor write down their baby's gender in a slip of paper and put it in an envelope so that if the couple was ready, they could take a look at it. Underwood and Fisher, who got married in July 2010, had decided to goo out to a fancy restaurant to celebrate and they opened the note there.

According to Underwood, "Just the two of us in a nicer setting, but we both knew. So, that was just confirming our suspicions. We didn't really speak of it before, 'cause we were both just like, 'Whatever. It's all good.' But we knew it was a boy."

The singer had first announce to the public that she was expecting this past September, when she shared a picture of herself with her two dogs dressed in shirts that read, "I'm going to be a big sister" and "I'm going to be a big brother."
