The 56-year-old actress Sharon Stone, is currently mourning the loss of her 22-year-old nephew named Colin. Her young nephew was found dead earlier this month from a suspected drug, particularly heroin, overdose.
The family of the actress had recently released a statement to Us Weekly. This was on Wednesday, November 19 that the family remembered the deceased son of the Lovelace actress' brother, Michael Stone.
According to a statement from Stone's family about the deceased, "Colin was a wonderful talented son," The statement continued, "Unfortunately he had an addiction bigger than himself. He will be greatly missed. Our prayers go out to all families coping with children facing addiction."
The L.A. County Coroner's office had revealed to Radar that Colin was found dead on November 10, in his apartment in Hollywood "during a welfare check by his apartment manager." This means that a person has not been seen or heard from in an unusual amount of time and does not answer phone calls or knocks on the door.
The family's spokesman also revealed to the site that his death was recorded as a "possible overdose, pending toxicology reports."
Millions of lives have been claimed by drugs and this boy, unfortunately, was not an exception. Drug addiction has always been a problem in society and should be addressed seriously.
The actress was described by friends as "devastated" after she got news of her nephew's passing. Colin Stone was the beloved son of Stone's older brother Michael, who is now 63-years-old. But Sharon had a special bond with her nephew as way back earlier in his life, Sharon was the one who provided support for her elder brother after he served two years behind bars for possessing one kilo of cocaine.
A source told Radar Online that "Michael was able to escape a life of drugs. Unfortunately, his son was not."
