The One Direction boys are getting older, and it looks as though their attitude towards their music is too, as the group, admit they would like to have more control of their song style.
The boyband released their fourth album, Four, last Friday, and it features 10 tracks co-written by the band.
"Now we feel like we really want to take a hold of where our career is going, to say the things we want to say and sing about the stuff we want to sing about," Liam Payne told Digital Spy. "I'd say out of all the albums we've had out so far, this is the album I've had on repeat, whereas the other ones I haven't really listened to that much since we did them."
The boys recently landed the opening line of Bob Geldof's Band Aid 30 single, Do they Know It's Christmas?
Acts awarded the privilege before them include Chris Martin, Kylie Minogue and, originally, Paul Young.
Track curator Bob Geldof said that the opening section is the "hardest" to sing because, being first, it's the most recognisable.
Despite the big role the band had, Geldof said that he was impressed with their efforts, and how they successfully managed to make it "sad" by "whispering in" the first few words.
Of course, Bono went on to reprise his famous line in the song again, only this time the lyrics has been changed from "well tonight thank god it's them instead of you" to "well tonight I'm reaching out and touching you".
Geldof said sales of the single, which will aid Ebola victims in Africa have "gone manic" and has raised more than £1.25 million within minutes of the song's debut on the X Factor in Sunday night.
Acts, including Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith, who feature on the song have also been urging listeners to buy a copy for the charitable cause.
