Vogue's Anna Wintour Happy With Decision On Controversial Kimye Cover

| By

Another couple's dream have just come true. Celebrity couple Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, better known as Kimye, had their dream come true with a much anticipated Vogue magazine spread in April 2014. This was just one month before the celebrity duo's nuptial. The fashion magazine hopped onboard and named Kim and Kanyethe #worldsmosttalkedaboutcouple on its print cover.

After seven months, Vogue editor Anna Wintour had revealed to the public her opinion about the much controversial Kimye cover through an interview at the Metropolitan Museum of New York on Monday, November 17. This was with former CNN journalist Alina Cho. Apparently, she was very happy with the outcome of her decision.

According to the highly respected Wintour, "The first celebrity that I put on the cover of Vogue was Madonna, and that was considered completely controversial at that time, too," she recalled at that time that was released by Fashionista.com.

Wintour then continued to open up and said, "Now she's part of the establishment. I think if we just remain deeply tasteful and just put deeply tasteful people on the cover, it would be a rather boring magazine! Nobody would talk about us." Wintour also added that given the magazine's image, "It's very important that people do talk about us."

The sassy editor had even opened up her opinion on Kim Kardashian's younger half-sister Kendall Jenner on her enchanting entrance into the fashion industry as well as her recent partnership as the face of Estee Lauder cosmetics. Wintour talked about Jenner, "What a fantastic decision that was! They have a wonderful brand that's very traditional American, and they decided they want to shake it up and reach a different audience." Wintour said excitedly, "Now and again one has to do things like that. I think it's partly of the excitement of being a journalist. I hope another Kim Kardashian comes along this year!"
