30 Rock actor Tracy Morgan is recovering but is still nowhere near his normal self before the infamous six-car accident that had him critically injured and his companion dead.
This past June, Tracy Morgan was involved in an accident at the road after a Walmart driver had slammed his truck into the actor's limo. This critically injured Morgan, sending him to the hospital with a broken leg, broken femur, broken nose, and broken ribs. His fellow passenger and comedy writer James McNair was not so lucky and passed away from the accident.
Morgan's lawyer Benedict Morelli told NJ.com last Tuesday, November 18, that the comedian is "still struggling" but "fighting" to get better.
Attorney Morelli continued to tell the media that "Mr. Morgan is a fighter." Morelli disclosed this to a number of reporters outside the federal courthouse in Trenton after a meeting with the attorneys of retail giant Walmart to discuss and set up future hearings.
Morelli added that the actor is "fighting to get better. If there's a chance to be back to the Tracy Morgan he once was, he is going to try to do that. We just don't know. But is he doing much better? He's doing better."
As reported several months ago, Morgan is suing Walmart. The comedian said that "Walmart was careless and negligent in the ownership and operation of its motor vehicle, which caused Mr. Morgan to suffer severe personal injuries." Walmart filed a countersuit faulting Morgan for not wearing a seatbelt and claimed the injuries happened "by failure to wear an appropriate available seat belt restraint device."
However, in response to the actor's claim, a spokesperson for the retail giant had previously disclosed to Us Weekly that "the company continues to stand willing to work with Mr. Morgan and the other plaintiffs to resolve this matter."
