While the 2016 movie "X-Men: Apocalypse" stays true to its release date, the roster of stars remains incomplete. Recent news reveals a bunch of actors slated to take on young versions of Jean Grey and Cyclops surface online, including Elle Fanning and Timothee Chalamet.
With development beginning in 2013, the next "X-Men" adventure production team is consistent in furthering their production as new information online surfaces. After news surfaced online a weeks ago on focusing "X-Men: Apocalypse" story on the relationship between Jennifer Lawrence's Mystique and Michael Fassbender's Magneto, another update is seen online. This time, focusing on the characters Cyclops and Jean Grey.
Prior to "X-Men: Apocalypse", the previous "X-Men" movies included of course Cyclops and Jean Grey albeit the older characters. Now that "X-Men: Apocalypse" is reportedly focused on the younger versions of the cast, various reports have revealed who will play the younger Cyclops and Jean Grey upon the "X-Men: Apocalypse" release date.
In the previous "X-Men" movies where the older version of Jean Grey appears, actor Famke Janssen has taken the character to new heights. Reprising her role as Jean Grey as she changes into the powerful Phoenix, Famke Janssen appeared in "X-Men" (2000), "X2" (2003), "X-Men: The Last Stand" (2006), "The Wolverine" (2013) and a brief cameo in the latest "X-Men: Days of Future Past" (2014).
Recent reports prior to the "X-Men: Apocalypse" release date reveals that actors Chloe Grace Moretz ("Kick-Ass" franchise), Hailee Steinfeld ("Begin Again"), and Elle Fanning ("Maleficent") being considered for the young Jean Grey. While nothing is set to stone, The Wrap reveals that both Moretz and Fanning have met director Brian Singer while other actors are still being considered for Jean Grey's appearance in the upcoming "X-Men: Apocalypse".
James Marsden on the other hand, has played the mutant Cyclops where the character appears in the "X-Men" franchise. According to the same report on "X-Men: Apocalypse", the actors being considered to portray young Cyclops include Ben Hardy (BBC's "EastEnders"), Timothee Chalamet ("Interstellar") and Charlie Rowe ("The Golden Compass").
While all these are speculations, "X-Men: Apocalypse" release date remains on a solid May 27, 2016.
